My Favorite Marriage Quotes

I have always enjoyed short quotes that capture the essence of a subject, I thought today I would share with you some of my favorite quotes about marriage:

  • “A good marriage is where each one secretly suspects they got the better deal” – Unknown
  • “A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.”—Mignon McLaughlin
  • “My most brilliant achievement was my ability to be able to persuade my wife to marry me.”—Winston Churchill
  • “Marriage is not a noun; it’s a verb. It isn’t something you get. It’s something you do. It’s the way you love your partner every day.”—Barbara De Angelis
  • “A happy marriage is the union of two good forgivers.”—Ruth Bell Graham
  • “No relationship is all sunshine, but two people can share one umbrella and survive the storm together” – unknown
  • “Loved you then, love you still. Always have, always will” – unknown

Ok just 2 of my favorite humorous quotes:

  • “It’s tough to stay married. My wife kisses the dog on the lips, yet she won’t drink from my glass.” — Rodney Dangerfield, American comedian
  • “An archeologist is the best husband a woman can have. The older she gets, the more interested he is in her.” — Agatha Christie, English writer

…and finally my favorite passage about love – I Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
